Redbridge Anticoagulation Service

Britannia Pharmacy has been commissioned by Redbridge Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to provide Anticoagulation services in community settings which commenced 4th January 2016.
This service has been developed with the support of the Anticoagulation Teams at King George Hospital and at Whipps Cross Hospital, Barts Health Trust. Our pharmacists have been specially trained and accredited to provide this service to the same standards as the hospital clinics.

The Service

  • Immediate INR test results (the time it takes for blood to clot) using finger-prick method.
  • Adjustment of Warfarin dose, if required.
  • Supply of Warfarin during the appointment.
  • Ongoing patient and family information about conditions and treatments.
  • Reports to your GP.
  • Home Visits for eligible Housebound Patients.
  • Four community clinic locations to suit you.
  • Emergency tests avaliable.
  • Late night test avaliable between 6.00pm and 7.45pm on request.

Eligibility for Treatment

Our Service is for patients aged 18 or over, registered with a GP surgery in Redbridge (including temporary residents), and all patients must have a referral from the Anticoagulation Clinic at Queen's Hospital or Whipps Cross Hospital, Barts Health Trust.
