Minor Aliments/Pharmacy First
Saving you a trip to your GP

The Minor Ailments scheme recognizes that it is not always necessary to visit your doctor.

At selected Britannia Pharmacy branches our accredited pharmacists can diagnose and supply treatment for a number of Minor Aliments including; Athlete's Foot, Cough, Cold, Constipation, Diarrohoea, Eczema, Head Lice, Fever, Sore Throat, Thrush, Hayfever, Allergies, Mouth Ulcers, Insect Bites, and Indigestion.

This service is especially useful for you and your family's minor illness at times when your GP surgery is busy. Britannia Pharmacy works with your GP to provide you with the same level of care and service and our pharmacist will refer you to your GP if required.

This service is presently available from our pharmacies situated in the Barking and Dagenham, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Walthamstow and Redbridge areas.

In order to participate in the Minor Ailments/Pharmacy First scheme;

Simply contact your GP to register for the scheme.

Your GP will issue you/your family members with a registration number.

You need to bring your registration details with you on your first time visit to Britannia Pharmacy for a Minor Aliment condition.

For any subsequent Minor Ailments conditions, you can simply ask to speak to the pharmacist directly. You do not need to make an appointment to see the pharmacist for a minor ailments consultation.

If you are exempt from prescription payments, there will be no charge for this service, otherwise the normal prescription charges apply.

All consultations are treated in confidence and carried out by our accredited pharmacists in the privacy of purpose built consultation rooms.
